Thunderstorms
passed over the fire area yesterday bringing high winds and some moisture, the
Red Flag Warning for abundant lightning is still in effect until 11:00 pm
today. Relief comes in the form of lower temperatures (60-70 degrees). Relative
humidity of 52-54%. Winds will be southeast 8-10 mph with gusts up to15 mph.
Moderately heavy rain showers are expected today. Gusty winds can be expected
from the thunderstorm.
Due to
the high fire activity in the area, fire managers made the decision to combine
the management of the Blanket Fire, the North Pelican Fire and the Spruce Fire.
The North Pelican Fire will now become a part of this Complex. Because of the
size and complexity of the 3 fires, the Southwest Incident Management Team 3
will assume command Saturday at 6:00 am.
