LAKEVIEW, Ore. – South Central Oregon Fire Management Partnership (SCOFMP) crews continue monitoring and mopping up the 41-acre Vee Lake Fire today.
Some juniper torching inside the fire perimeter may be visible, particularly at night, but are not a hazard. The cause of the fire, which was reported at 11:45 a.m. Friday, is still under investigation.
Vee Lake is a popular recreation area in the North Warner Mountains on the Fremont-Winema National forest. All roads and recreation facilities in the area remain open, although visitors are asked to drive carefully and abide by current fire restrictions.
