Jade Creek and Lost Forest Fire Update - August 30, 2017 5 p.m.

WILDFIRE UPDATE -

August 29, 2017 at 5 p.m.

Lost Forest Fire—90 acres in the Fort Rock area.  Successfully contained today at 12:00 p.m. by Firefighters and air resources.

Jade Creek Fire—over 400 acres.  Extreme Fire behavior and is growing to the northeast.
aircraft dropped water and retardant on the fire to try and slow down it's progress.

The Jade Fire is currently burning on Private lands protected by Oregon Department of Forestry as well as USFS land. Campgrounds and recreational infrastructure also at risk.
Corral Springs campground is under evacuation.
A Type 2 Incident Management Team has been ordered for the Jade Creek Fire.
