August 29, 2017 - 4 New Fires for SCOFMP

🔥WILDFIRE UPDATE🔥

8/29/17 - 6:00 p.m.

The South Central Oregon Fire Management Partnership fire resources have been working on 4 new fires that started today.

Lost Forest Fire reported at 11:00am today near Christmas Valley and had grown to 90 acres. Fire spread was slowed by 3 Engines, hand crews, water tender, helicopter, and SEAT. Fire currently 90 acres and 15% contained.

Jade Creek Fire - Dog Mountain reported smoke in Bly area. Multiple Fire resources are responding and is currently approximately 5 acres.
Evacuating Corral Springs campground and Corral Cr TH/Sheriffs assisting. Cause under investigation.

Fire 592- Report of 20 acre fire 1 mile North of California border and growing rapidly. Upon arrival it was determined that the incident is on the California side of the border. SCOFMP resources diverted to #593

Nalox Fire 593 - Barn on fire. Fire spreading rapidly uphill, residence 200 ft. away. 5 Engines, helicopter responding. Unified Command with District 1-5 of their engines on scene. Fire is running, spotting, and torching. Timber threatened. Cause under investigation.
